Lift Up Lip Lift (Philtrum Shortening)
A lip lift, also known as a “philtrum reduction,” is a procedure that shortens the distance between the nose and the upper lip by removing a few millimeters of skin beneath the nose.
This surgery helps achieve better facial balance. It is suitable for individuals who are born with a long philtrum or who have experienced elongation due to aging and muscle laxity, which can make the upper lip appear thinner and give an aged look. By shortening the philtrum, the upper lip gains more definition and volume, resulting in a firmer and more youthful appearance.
Ideal for anyone who feels they have…
- An excessively long philtrum
- A flat, expressionless mid-face
- A face that looks “stretched” or elongated
Procedure Details
A small incision is made at the base of the nose. Excess skin is excised; the orbicularis oris muscle is refined as needed, and the skin is closed with fine sutures.
