Lift Up Submental Platysma Plication (“Pelican” Surgery)
This procedure removes excess fat beneath the chin and tightens the neck’s platysma muscle to correct a heavy, sagging “double-chin” appearance.
Ideal for anyone who feels they have…
- A visible double chin
- Sagging skin beneath the jawline
Procedure Details
A small incision is made along the natural submental crease. Superficial and deep fat layers are carefully removed under direct vision.
A second 3–4 cm incision allows wide dissection under the neck skin so surplus cheek- and submental fat can be excised. The left and right platysma edges are pulled together in the midline, secured, and the wounds are closed.
