Rhinoplasty Alar Rim Lift
An alar rim lift is a surgical procedure that involves excising a portion of the edge of the nostril to improve sagging or prominence of the nasal alae. It shapes the nose to create a clean, refined impression.

Center: 2. The nostril openings are hidden by the overhanging alae.
Right: Lifting the curve of the nostril upward
Recommended for those with these concerns:
- Drooping nasal alae
- Width of the nasal alae
- Size of the nose
- Size of the nostrils

2. The skin is sutured along the border of the nostril.
Although an alar lift and an alar rim lift appear to be similar procedures, they differ in where the scar is formed: the skin surface (alar lift) versus the edge of the nostril (alar rim lift).

Procedure Details
The design is marked on the skin, and a portion of the drooping nostril is excised. The skin is sutured to adjust the shape, completing the surgery.

Recovery and Aftercare
Swelling and Bruising
Swelling and bruising are most noticeable for the first 1–2 weeks after surgery. The nose continues to settle for about 3 months, after which the final shape is visible.
Daily Life
Please sleep on your back so that no strong external force is applied to the nose.
Please also avoid touching or wetting the surgical site for the first week, or until your doctor tells you it is safe to do so.
Risks and Side Effects
Risks and side effects include swelling, bruising, pain, edema, redness, scarring, infection, and asymmetry.
